Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Decline in Copper, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum

According to a report from Scrapmonster, prices for numerous scrap metal grades in China moved lower in recent trading sessions. The most pronounced decreases were observed in copper and stainless steel categories.

Multiple copper scrap grades saw reductions. Prices for #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing each fell, as did the price for #2 Copper Wire and Tubing. #1 Insulated Copper Wire and #2 Insulated Copper Wire also registered declines, though of differing magnitudes. The prices for Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap, along with Harness Wire, did not change.

Stainless steel scrap prices also dropped. The price for 310 SS declined, while 316 SS Solid prices edged lower. Shred SS scrap prices were down as well.

Aluminum scrap markets exhibited widespread softness. Prices for 6063 Aluminum Extrusions and aluminum ingot moved lower. E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast aluminum, and Old Sheet aluminum prices all decreased. However, Aluminum Radiator, Aluminum Transformer, Used Beverage Cans, and Zorba grades saw no price variation.

In contrast to other metals, steel scrap prices, encompassing HMS and cast iron, showed no significant movement. Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices also held steady. Brass and bronze scrap prices recorded a decline.
