Chinese Scrap Metal Prices: Copper Down, Aluminum & Stainless Steel Up

According to the Daily Scrap Metal Price Report from Scrap Monster, several key copper grades experienced price reductions. The categories for bare bright copper and copper wire and tubing each decreased by fifty Chinese yuan per metric ton. Prices for insulated copper wire, transformer scrap, and copper yokes showed no movement from the prior day.

In contrast, the aluminum scrap market saw multiple increases. Extrusion and ingot values each rose by fifty yuan per ton. Old cast and old sheet aluminum prices also strengthened by the same amount. E.C. aluminum wire advanced, while other aluminum grades like radiators and used beverage cans held steady.

Stainless steel scrap posted notable gains. The price for 310 stainless rose by one hundred fifty yuan per metric ton, representing the largest increase noted. Grades of 316 solid and shredded stainless also moved higher. Meanwhile, brass and bronze scrap prices in China remained unchanged.

The overall assessment indicates a mixed market, with copper prices declining slightly, aluminum and stainless steel values moving higher, and other categories showing stability.
