China's Intake Air Filter Export Drops 6%, Averaging 19M Units in September 2022
China Intake Air Filter Exports
In September 2022, intake air filter exports from China shrank to 19M units, which is down by -6% against the previous month's figure. Overall, exports recorded a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 when exports increased by 43% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at 25M units in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, intake air filter exports reached $58M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2022 when exports increased by 48% against the previous month. The exports peaked at 68M units in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Russia (3.9M units), the United States (2.7M units) and Brazil (747K units) were the main destinations of intake air filter exports from China, together accounting for 38% of total exports.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Russia (with a CAGR of +16.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($8.8M), the United States ($8.4M) and Saudi Arabia ($3M) appeared to be the largest markets for intake air filter exported from China worldwide, together accounting for 35% of total exports.
Saudi Arabia, with a CAGR of +19.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In September 2022, the intake air filter price amounted to $3.0 per unit (FOB, China), picking up by 7.7% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to September 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 when the average export price increased by 18% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $3.0 per unit in July 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to September 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($5.3 per unit), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($1.3 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+15.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
