Ceramic Sanitary Ware Price in America Averages $37 per Unit

U.S. Ceramic Sanitary Ware Import Price in August 2022

In August 2022, the ceramic sanitary ware price amounted to $37 per unit (CIF, US), with an increase of 7.1% against the previous month. Over the last seven-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2022 an increase of 8.4% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $38.4K per thousand units. From May 2022 to August 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($79 per unit), while the price for China ($31 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

U.S. Ceramic Sanitary Ware Import Prices by Type

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplied products. In August 2022, the product with the highest price was ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures other than of porcelain or china ($50 per unit), while the price for ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures of porcelain or china stood at $36 per unit.

As a result, imports reached the peak of 4.1M units, leveling off in the following month.

The total import value increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5% from January 2022 to August 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 when imports increased by 14% against the previous month. Imports peaked in August 2022.

In August 2022, ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures of porcelain or china (3.7M units) was the main type of ceramic sanitary ware supplied to the United States, with a 91% share of total imports. In August 2022, China (2.6M units) constituted the largest supplier of ceramic sanitary ware to the United States, accounting for a 64% share of total imports. Moreover, ceramic sanitary ware imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Mexico (1.1M units), twofold. Thailand (105K units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 2.6% share.

From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Mexico (+2.5% per month) and Thailand (-6.5% per month).

In value terms, the largest ceramic sanitary ware suppliers to the United States were China ($81M), Mexico ($51M) and Thailand ($5.4M), together comprising 89% of total imports.

Mexico, with a CAGR of +4.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
