BackOps AI Secures $26M Series A Led by Theory Ventures

According to a report from FreightWaves, BackOps AI has obtained $26 million in a Series A financing round. The investment was led by Theory Ventures and is intended to support team expansion and an accelerated product development schedule.

The company, which is developing an artificial intelligence-based operating system for supply chain management, stated its platform has demonstrated significant improvements in customer response times. The firm's chief executive identified substantial inefficiencies in manual logistics labor.

BackOps offers two primary products: an AI Process Center and a flagship product named Relay. This flagship product operates across various communication platforms to identify and automatically address logistical issues, including filing carrier claims and managing reshipments. The system incorporates human oversight, allowing teams to set approval and escalation protocols.

A partner from the lead investor described much current supply chain work as highly manual, stating the company is constructing an intelligent operational layer for logistics. The recent Series A follows a previous $6 million funding round concluded in June 2025.
