According to a report from Euronews, industrial action by airport ground staff is expected to cause significant disruption for travelers during the upcoming Easter holiday period. Spanish unions have organized walkouts affecting baggage handling, aircraft turnaround, and boarding services at multiple major airports.

The strikes are a response to disputes over pay, working conditions, and efforts to establish industry-wide labor agreements. Staff employed by the company Groundforce, which operates at a dozen airports, will begin an indefinite strike with periodic stoppages on specific days and times. Other handling staff have scheduled full-day strikes on several dates, with the potential for recurring action through the end of the year if no resolution is found.

The industrial action will impact many of Spain's busiest airports, including those in Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Alicante, and several key islands.
