ADM and American Farmland Trust Launch Farm Forward Initiative to Support Farmers

ADM is collaborating with American Farmland Trust to provide assistance to farmers in several Midwestern states. The program offers support for succession planning, connections to production resources and peer networks, and grant funding.

A financial commitment of $500,000 from ADM Cares forms part of the ADM Farm Forward Initiative. Company leadership stated the initiative represents a long-term commitment to working with farmers to strengthen resilience. An executive noted that by partnering with the Trust, ADM aims to provide farmers with tools and resources to support their businesses, land, and families.

The partnership begins as farmers contend with shifting market demands, evolving trade policy, technological change, and uncertainty. Last year, 315 family farms filed for bankruptcy, up 46% from 2024.

American Farmland Trust will manage local engagement, delivering tailored support. The organization's leader emphasized that farm resilience depends on planning, networks, and communities, and that the partnership provides practical resources and financial assistance to help secure the future of farms.

The Farm Forward Initiative consolidates various ADM investments and partnerships into a single platform aimed at farmer resilience. The effort is designed to address current pressures on farmers while fostering future opportunities. ADM leadership reiterated that supporting farmers is a priority, as the company's success is linked to theirs, and the initiative aims to strengthen rural communities for the long term.
