Price for Broad Bean and Horse Bean in China (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for broad beans and horse beans (dry) stood at $1,415 per ton in June 2023, which is down by -19.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated resilient growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, broad bean and horse bean export price decreased by -19.2% against May 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 35% month-to-month. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($2,395 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($1,055 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
