From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China stood at -10.6%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (-7.6% per year) and India (-5.5% per year).

In 2021, the average silk fabric export price amounted to $X per square meter, with a decrease of -31.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 31% against the previous year. In value terms, the largest silk fabric importing markets worldwide were Italy ($X), France ($X) and the United States ($X), together comprising 31% of global imports. Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong SAR, South Korea, India, the United Arab Emirates, China, the UK, Romania, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Qatar and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.

Kyrgyzstan, with a CAGR of +57.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average silk fabric import price stood at $X per square meter in 2021, picking up by 5.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 6.7%. Global import price peaked at $X per square meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
