In Chile, sodium nitrate exports shrank by an average annual rate of -10.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: China (-4.8% per year) and Denmark (+8.7% per year).

The average sodium nitrate export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 15% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible downturn. The global export price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, the largest sodium nitrate importing markets worldwide were the United States ($X), Japan ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X), together comprising 32% of global imports.
Among the main importing countries, the United Arab Emirates, with a CAGR of +56.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average sodium nitrate import price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 18% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern.
