The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2012 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, exports reached the peak of $X. from 2013 to 2020, the growth of global exports remained at a lower figure.

France represented the key exporter of railway or tramway passenger coaches (not self-propelled) in the world, with the volume of exports finishing at X units, which was near X% of total exports in 2020. Russia (X units) took a X% share (based on tonnes) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Brazil (X%), Spain (X%) and Germany (X%). Indonesia (X units) and Japan (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Export Prices by Country

In 2020, the average railway passenger coach export price amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2019, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while France ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Global import price peaked at $X per unit in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2020, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while Angola ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
