The third position in this ranking was occupied by China (X tonnes), with a X% share.

In Iran, pistachio production expanded at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2018. The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: the U.S. (+X% per year) and China (+X% per year).

In 2018, approx. X tonnes of pistachios were exported worldwide; remaining constant against the previous year. In general, pistachio exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. In that year, global pistachio exports attained their peak of X tonnes. From 2013 to 2018, the growth of global pistachio exports failed to regain its momentum.

In value terms, pistachio exports stood at $X in 2018. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007 to 2018; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded over the period under review. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. The global exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The U.S. represented the major exporter of pistachios exported in the world, with the volume of exports reaching X tonnes, which was near X% of total exports in 2018. Global imports totaled X tonnes in 2018, going up by X% against the previous year. In general, pistachio imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, global pistachio imports attained their peak figure at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

In value terms, pistachio imports totaled $X in 2018. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2018; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded over the period under review. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. The global imports peaked in 2018 and are likely to continue its growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

China, Hong Kong SAR represented the largest importer of pistachios imported in the world, with the volume of imports reaching X tonnes, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2018. Viet Nam (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Germany (X%) and China (X%). The following importers - Belgium (X tonnes), Spain (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes), Luxembourg (X tonnes), Saudi Arabia (X tonnes) and France (X tonnes) - together made up X% of total imports.
