In 2022, overseas shipments of photo-copying apparatus decreased by -15.8% to X units for the first time since 2016, thus ending a five-year rising trend. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, the global exports reached the maximum at X units in 2021, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, photo-copying apparatus exports contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the global exports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
China represented the key exporting country with an export of around X units, which recorded 36% of total exports. The Philippines (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 10% share, followed by Bulgaria (8.9%), Poland (8.3%), Thailand (8%) and Singapore (7.9%). The following exporters - France (X units), Malaysia (X units), Vietnam (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) - together made up 10% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to photo-copying apparatus exports from China stood at +15.3%. At the same time, Bulgaria (+94.5%), Poland (+46.5%), Thailand (+36.5%), the Philippines (+25.2%), France (+12.9%) and the Netherlands (+8.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bulgaria emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +94.5% from 2012-2022. Vietnam experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Malaysia (-8.2%) and Singapore (-12.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+23 p.p.), the Philippines (+10 p.p.), Bulgaria (+8.9 p.p.), Poland (+8.1 p.p.), Thailand (+7.4 p.p.) and France (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while Malaysia and Singapore saw its share reduced by -6.4% and -37.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest photo-copying apparatus supplying countries worldwide were China ($X), Thailand ($X) and the Philippines ($X), with a combined 47% share of global exports. Singapore, Malaysia, France, Poland, the Netherlands, Vietnam and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 20%.
Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +46.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average photo-copying apparatus export price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The global export price peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while Bulgaria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+2.8%), while the other global leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports
In 2022, supplies from abroad of photo-copying apparatus increased by 64% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports showed perceptible growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, photo-copying apparatus imports rose to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 22%. Global imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
The Philippines represented the key importer of photo-copying apparatus in the world, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was near 44% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by the United States (X units), comprising a 13% share of total imports. Poland (X units), the UK (X units), Germany (X units), Singapore (X units), Canada (X units), South Korea (X units), India (X units), the Netherlands (X units), the United Arab Emirates (X units) and France (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
The Philippines was also the fastest-growing in terms of the photo-copying apparatus imports, with a CAGR of +224.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Poland (+30.9%), South Korea (+21.2%), India (+15.2%), the United Arab Emirates (+14.2%), the Netherlands (+11.4%), Canada (+9.9%), France (+4.9%) and the United States (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. The UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Germany (-3.4%) and Singapore (-22.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The Philippines (+44 p.p.), Poland (+3.8 p.p.) and South Korea (+1.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while the UK, Germany and Singapore saw its share reduced by -1.6%, -3% and -41.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United States ($X), India ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 23% of global imports. South Korea, Singapore, Canada, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, France, Poland and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 24%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +10.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average photo-copying apparatus import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -37.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 12%. Global import price peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while the Philippines ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+6.7%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
