Formaldehyde Exports

Exports

In 2022, global formaldehyde exports shrank dramatically to X tons, waning by X% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The global exports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, formaldehyde exports dropped to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the global exports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The Netherlands was the key exporter of formaldehyde in the world, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Spain (X%), the United States (X%) and Slovakia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Poland (X p.p.), Turkey (X p.p.), India (X p.p.), Belgium (X p.p.), Italy (X p.p.), Argentina (X p.p.) and Germany (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2022, the share of the Netherlands (X p.p.) and Slovakia (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the largest formaldehyde supplier worldwide, comprising X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belgium ($X), with a X% share of global exports. It was followed by Poland, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in the Netherlands was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Belgium (X% per year) and Poland (X% per year).

In general, total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade.
