The following exporters - Singapore (X units), the United States (X units), Vietnam (X units) and Germany (X units) - each reached an 8% share of total exports.
China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of keyboards. At the same time, the Netherlands (+21.3%), Vietnam (+11.8%) and Singapore (+10.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +21.3% from 2012-2021. Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Hong Kong SAR (-1.8%) and the United States (-2.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of the Netherlands increased by +7.2 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest keyboards supplier worldwide, comprising 44% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with an 11% share of global exports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 6.5% share.
In China, keyboards exports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Netherlands (+16.8% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (+3.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average keyboards export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 3.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a moderate increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 147%. The global export price peaked at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The countries with the highest levels of keyboards imports in 2021 were the United States (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Hong Kong SAR (X units), together reaching 40% of total import. It was distantly followed by China (X units) and Germany (X units), together mixing up a 10% share of total imports. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United States totaled +4.0%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+13.2% per year) and Germany (+7.5% per year).
