In 2022, overseas shipments of hand-made lace in the piece, in strips or in motifs were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, total exports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the global exports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, hand-made lace exports expanded significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Turkey represented the largest exporter of hand-made lace in the piece, in strips or in motifs in the world, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. China (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by India (X tons) and Israel (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Pakistan (X tons) and the United States (X tons) - each amounted to a X% share of total exports.
