For the fourth consecutive year, the global market recorded growth in shipments abroad of glutamic acid and its salts, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Malaysia (X%) and Thailand (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Malaysia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Brazil and Vietnam experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Indonesia (X%) and France (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (X p.p.) and France (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while Vietnam, Brazil and Indonesia saw its share reduced by X%, X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest glutamic acid supplier worldwide, comprising X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Indonesia ($X), with a X% share of global exports. It was followed by Brazil, with an X% share.

In value terms, Japan ($X), Nigeria ($X) and Thailand ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined X% share of global imports. Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, India, South Korea, the United States, Taiwan (Chinese), Myanmar and Mexico lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
