In 2023, overseas shipments of glues based on starches, dextrins or other modified starches decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after five years of growth. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2022 to 2023, the growth of the global exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, starch glue exports totaled $X in 2023. Overall, exports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The global exports peaked in 2023 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Germany represented the largest exporter of glues based on starches, dextrins or other modified starches in the world, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Saudi Arabia (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by the Netherlands (X tons) and China (X tons). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total exports. The following exporters - the Czech Republic (X tons), France (X tons), Ukraine (X tons), Belgium (X tons), the UK (X tons), Egypt (X tons), Sweden (X tons), Austria (X tons) and South Africa (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to starch glue exports from Germany stood at X%. In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest starch glue supplier worldwide, comprising X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a X% share of global exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2023, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Germany amounted to X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (X% per year) and the Netherlands (X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2023, the average starch glue export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, global imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2022, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
In value terms, starch glue imports fell modestly to $X in 2023.
