Exports by Country
Ghana was the main exporter of tomato puree and paste in Western Africa, with the volume of exports resulting at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Togo (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Cote d'Ivoire (X tons), Senegal (X tons) and Mali (X tons). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total exports. Niger (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to tomato puree exports from Ghana stood at X%. At the same time, Togo (X%), Cote d'Ivoire (X%) and Senegal (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Togo emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, tomato puree imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Ghana (X tons) represented the main importer of tomato puree and paste, committing X% of total imports. Togo (X tons) took an X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Benin (X%), Cote d'Ivoire (X%), Senegal (X%), Niger (X%), Sierra Leone (X%), Burkina Faso (X%) and Guinea (X%). Gambia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Ghana decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. Moreover, Sierra Leone emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Western Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022.
