Exports in Western Africa

In 2022, overseas shipments of socks, stockings and other women's hosiery decreased by X% to X pairs, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X pairs in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, women hosiery exports dropped notably to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Mauritania (X pairs), distantly followed by Senegal (X pairs), Sierra Leone (X pairs), Guinea (X pairs), Nigeria (X pairs) and Ghana (X pairs) were the major exporters of socks, stockings and other women's hosiery, together generating X% of total exports.
