Semiconductor Led Exports

Exports in Western Africa

In 2022, the amount of semiconductor light emitting diodes (LEDs) exported in Western Africa shrank sharply to X units, waning by X% compared with 2021 figures. In general, exports, however, recorded measured growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, semiconductor LED exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Burkina Faso (X units), Ghana (X units) and Cote d'Ivoire (X units) represented the main exporter of semiconductor light emitting diodes (LEDs) in Western Africa, generating X% of total export. It was distantly followed by Togo (X units), Sierra Leone (X units) and Senegal (X units), together making up a X% share of total exports. Nigeria (X units) took a little share of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. In 2022, Cote d'Ivoire (X units) and Ghana (X units) were the key importers of semiconductor light emitting diodes (LEDs) in Western Africa, together making up X% of total imports.
