In value terms, polystyrene exports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, faced a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Nigeria represented the major exporter of polystyrene in Western Africa, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Ghana (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Benin (X%), Sierra Leone (X%) and Senegal (X%).

In value terms, polystyrene imports reduced dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

Nigeria (X tons) and Ghana (X tons) dominates imports structure, together mixing up X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Cote d'Ivoire (X tons), achieving a X% share of total imports. Liberia (X tons) and Senegal (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
