Newsprint Exports

Exports in Western Africa

Newsprint exports dropped rapidly to X tons in 2022, which is down by X% on the year before. Over the period under review, exports faced a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, newsprint exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X%. It was distantly followed by Sierra Leone (X tons), Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) and Senegal (X tons), together achieving a X% share of total exports. Burkina Faso (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Nigeria was also the fastest-growing in terms of the newsprint exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. Sierra Leone (X%), Cote d'Ivoire (X%), Burkina Faso (X%) and Senegal (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
