Capacitor Exports

Exports in Western Africa

In 2022, overseas shipments of electrical capacitors decreased by X% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, showed a perceptible expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2021, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

In value terms, capacitor exports contracted to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

Exports by Country

Mali prevails in exports structure, accounting for X units, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Sierra Leone (X units) held a little share of total exports.

Mali was also the fastest-growing in terms of the electrical capacitors exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. Sierra Leone (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mali (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Sierra Leone (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Mali ($X) remains the largest capacitor supplier in Western Africa, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Sierra Leone ($X), with a X% share of total exports.
