Exports in Western Africa

In 2022, overseas shipments of crude cotton-seed oil were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2012, thus ending a nine-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a abrupt decline. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cotton-seed oil exports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, faced a precipitous setback. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Cote d'Ivoire was the key exporter of crude cotton-seed oil in Western Africa, with the volume of exports finishing at X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Benin (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Burkina Faso (X%). Togo (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.
