In 2022, approx. X tons of breakfast cereals were exported in Western Africa; with an increase of X% compared with the previous year. Overall, exports saw a significant expansion. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, breakfast cereal exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted significant growth. Senegal dominates exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Burkina Faso (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.

The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, breakfast cereal imports rose to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a moderate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Nigeria (X tons) and Burkina Faso (X tons) were the main importers of breakfast cereals in 2022, amounting to approx. X% and X% of total imports, respectively.
