Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2021, the average silicone export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 34% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average export price increased by 61% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Silicone imports into Vietnam soared to X tons in 2021, rising by 26% against the previous year. Overall, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
