Shampoo Market Size in Vietnam

In value terms, shampoo exports rose markedly to $X in 2020. In general, exports continue to indicate buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Japan (X tonnes) was the main destination for shampoo exports from Viet Nam, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, shampoo exports to Japan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Philippines (X tonnes), fivefold. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume to Japan stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Philippines (-X% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+X% per year).

In value terms, Japan ($X) remains the key foreign market for shampoo exports from Viet Nam, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Philippines, with a X% share.

The average shampoo export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, with an increase of X% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a mild expansion from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, shampoo export price decreased by -X% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 an increase of X% y-o-y. In 2020, purchases abroad of shampoos decreased by -X% to X tonnes for the first time since 2015, thus ending a four-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2019, and then fell significantly in the following year.

In value terms, shampoo imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient expansion.
