Cyclic Hydrocarbons Exports

Exports from Vietnam

In 2022, shipments abroad of cyclic hydrocarbons decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after five years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cyclic hydrocarbons exports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

China (X tons) was the main destination for cyclic hydrocarbons exports from Vietnam, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, cyclic hydrocarbons exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Thailand (X tons), with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to China amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (X% per year) and Thailand (X% per year).

In 2022, the average cyclic hydrocarbons export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Cambodia ($X per ton) and Malaysia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton) and China ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of cyclic hydrocarbons decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after seven years of growth. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cyclic hydrocarbons imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
