Porcelain Technical Ware Market Size in Vietnam

For the fifth consecutive year, the Vietnamese porcelain technical ware market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by X% to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a slight curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Porcelain technical ware consumption peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, consumption failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, porcelain technical ware production rose rapidly to $X in 2020 estimated in export prices. Over the period under review, production, however, saw a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the production volume increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, production attained the maximum level at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, production failed to regain the momentum.

In 2020, exports of porcelain ceramic wares for laboratory, technical, and chemical use from Viet Nam surged to X tonnes, growing by X% on the year before. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports attained the maximum at X tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, porcelain technical ware exports surged to $X in 2020. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Lao People's Democratic Republic (X tonnes) was the main destination for porcelain technical ware exports from Viet Nam, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, porcelain technical ware exports to Lao People's Democratic Republic exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X tonnes), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Malaysia (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume to Lao People's Democratic Republic totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (-X% per year) and Malaysia (+X% per year).

In value terms, Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X) remains the key foreign market for porcelain technical ware exports from Viet Nam, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Malaysia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the U.S., with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of value to Lao People's Democratic Republic amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Malaysia (+X% per year) and the U.S. (-X% per year).

The average porcelain technical ware export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a tangible increase. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, import prices failed to regain the momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was the U.S. ($X per tonne), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
