The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The United States (X units) was the main destination for baby clothes exports from Vietnam, with a 60% share of total exports. Moreover, baby clothes exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Spain (X units), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Germany (X units), with a 4.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States stood at +1.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Spain (+5.0% per year) and Germany (+9.0% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for baby clothes exports from Vietnam, comprising 61% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with an 8% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 4.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the United States amounted to +3.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Spain (+5.0% per year) and Germany (+14.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average baby clothes export price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 6% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.6%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+23.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Vietnam
Baby clothes imports into Vietnam skyrocketed to X units in 2021, increasing by 238% on 2020. Over the period under review, imports posted a prominent increase. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, baby clothes imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a modest increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 162%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

China (X units), the United Arab Emirates (X units) and Bangladesh (X units) were the main suppliers of baby clothes imports to Vietnam, with a combined 76% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the United Arab Emirates (with a CAGR of +93.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
