Tomato Market Size in Uzbekistan

In 2018, Mexico (X tonnes), distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tonnes), Spain (X tonnes), Morocco (X tonnes) and Turkey (X tonnes) were the major exporters of tomatoes, together comprising X% of total exports. Iran (X tonnes), China (X tonnes), France (X tonnes), Jordan (X tonnes), Canada (X tonnes), Belgium (X tonnes) and the U.S. (X tonnes) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Iran (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Mexico ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Spain ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2018, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Morocco, Canada, France, Turkey, the U.S., Belgium, China, Jordan, Iran and Uzbekistan, which together accounted for a further X terms of the main exporting countries, Iran recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to market size, over the period under review, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the tomato export price in Uzbekistan amounted to $X per tonne, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the tomato export price, however, continues to indicate a deep decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 when the export price increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the export prices for tomatoes attained their maximum at $X per tonne in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, export prices failed to regain their momentum.

The U.S. was the major importer of tomatoes imported in the world, with the volume of imports finishing at X tonnes, which was near X% of total imports in 2018. Germany (X tonnes) held a X% share (based on tonnes) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Russia (X%), France (X%) and the UK (X%). The following importers - the Netherlands (X tonnes), Canada (X tonnes), Spain (X tonnes), Belarus (X tonnes), Pakistan (X tonnes), Saudi Arabia (X tonnes) and Poland (X tonnes) - together made up X% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2018, average annual rates of growth with regard to tomato imports into the U.S. stood at +X%. At the same time, Pakistan (+X%), Belarus (+X%), Spain (+X%), Poland (+X%), the Netherlands (+X%) and Canada (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Pakistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2018. Germany, Russia, the UK and France experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2018, the share of the U.S., Pakistan, Spain and Belarus increased by +X%, +X%, +X% and +X% percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest tomato importing markets into Uzbekistan were the U.S. ($X), Germany ($X) and France ($X), together accounting for X% of total imports.
