Exports from Uzbekistan
In 2022, overseas shipments of spices decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after three years of growth. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a perceptible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, spice exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main destination for spice exports from Uzbekistan, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, spice exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kyrgyzstan (X tons), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Russia (X tons), with an X% share.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
In value terms, spice imports contracted slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a significant expansion. India (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the main suppliers of spice imports to Uzbekistan, with a combined X% share of total imports.
