Plywood Market Size in the U.S.

The revenue of the plywood market in the U.S. amounted to $X in 2018, rising by X% against the previous year. Exports by Country

China (X cubic meters), Mexico (X cubic meters) and Australia (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of plywood exports from the U.S., together comprising X% of total exports. Bermuda, Antigua and Barbuda, Palau, the Dominican Republic, Aruba, Bahamas, Ireland and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Palau (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for plywood exported from the U.S. were Australia ($X), China ($X) and Mexico ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Aruba, South Korea, Antigua and Barbuda, Bermuda, Palau and Ireland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X terms of the main countries of destination, Aruba recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to exports, over the last eleven years, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the average plywood export price amounted to $X per cubic meter, going up by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the plywood export price continues to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 an increase of X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per cubic meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Bahamas ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bahamas, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the U.S.

Plywood imports into the U.S. stood at X cubic meters in 2018, going up by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, plywood imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, plywood imports attained their peak figure at X cubic meters in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, plywood imports amounted to $X in 2018. In general, plywood imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

Imports by Country

China (X cubic meters), Brazil (X cubic meters) and Chile (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of plywood imports to the U.S., together accounting for X% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Chile, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of plywood to the U.S., comprising X% of total plywood imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Brazil ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Canada, with a X% share.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by X% against the previous year. In that year, the average import prices for plywood reached their peak level of $X per cubic meter. From 2015 to 2018, the growth in terms of the average import prices for plywood failed to regain its momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per cubic meter), while the price for Russia ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
