Sausage Exports

Exports from the U.S.

In 2023, shipments abroad of sausage, canned meat, and meat by-product decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, total exports indicated a pronounced increase from 2013 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, exports decreased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, sausage exports reduced dramatically to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a pronounced increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at $X in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Indonesia (X tons), Mexico (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the main destinations of sausage exports from the United States, with a combined X% share of total exports.

In value terms, the largest markets for sausage exported from the United States were China ($X), Mexico ($X) and Canada ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. Over the period under review, imports showed significant growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
