The U.S. pineapple market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2021, after three years of decline. In value terms, pineapple exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a slight contraction. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Canada (X tonnes) was the main destination for pineapple exports from the United States, with a approx. X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Canada was relatively modest.
In value terms, Canada ($X) also remains the key foreign market for pineapple exports from the United States.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, pineapple imports amounted to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Costa Rica (X tonnes) constituted the largest pineapple supplier to the United States, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, pineapple imports from Costa Rica exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Honduras (X tonnes), more than tenfold. Mexico (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

Import Prices by Country
The average pineapple import price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, with an increase of X% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a mild decline. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per tonne in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per tonne), while the price for Guatemala ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
