Exports from Tanzania

After four years of growth, overseas shipments of pulses decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, pulses exports reduced notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

India (X tons) was the main destination for pulses exports from Tanzania, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, pulses exports to India exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Pakistan (X tons), twofold.
