Exports from the UK

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of graphite (natural), when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. Overall, exports recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

In value terms, graphite exports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Turkey (X tons), China (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of graphite exports from the UK, with a combined X% share of total exports. Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Thailand and France lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Thailand (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
