Roundwood Exports

Exports from the United Arab Emirates

In 2022, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in shipments abroad of roundwood, when their volume increased by X% to X cubic meters. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X cubic meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, roundwood exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports posted a temperate expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

China (X cubic meters) was the main destination for roundwood exports from the United Arab Emirates, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, roundwood exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Saudi Arabia (X cubic meters), threefold. Oman (X cubic meters) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to China amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Saudi Arabia (X% per year) and Oman (X% per year).
