Exports by Country

Maldives (X tonnes) was the main destination for dried mushroom exports from the United Arab Emirates, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, dried mushroom exports to Maldives exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Oman (X tonnes), twofold. Kenya (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of volume to Maldives stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Oman (+X% per year) and Kenya (+X% per year).

In value terms, Maldives ($X) remains the key foreign market for dried mushroom exports from the United Arab Emirates, comprising X% of total dried mushroom exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Qatar ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Oman, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of value to Maldives stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Qatar (+X% per year) and Oman (+X% per year).

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Iran ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bangladesh, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Overall, dried mushroom imports, however, continue to indicate a moderate expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. In that year, dried mushroom imports reached their peak of X tonnes. From 2012 to 2018, the growth of dried mushroom imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, dried mushroom imports amounted to $X in 2018. In general, dried mushroom imports, however, continue to indicate a temperate decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% year-to-year. In that year, dried mushroom imports reached their peak of $X. From 2012 to 2018, the growth of dried mushroom imports failed to regain its momentum.

Imports by Country

The U.S. (X tonnes), China (X tonnes) and Malaysia (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of dried mushroom imports to the United Arab Emirates, with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Pakistan, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, France, Belgium, Singapore, Spain, Germany and Thailand, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Malaysia ($X), China ($X) and the U.S. ($X) were the largest dried mushroom suppliers to the United Arab Emirates, with a combined X% share of total imports. Germany, Pakistan, France, the Netherlands, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Spain and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X recorded the highest growth rate of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the last eleven years, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the dried mushroom import price continues to indicate a deep decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average import prices for mushrooms (dried) attained their maximum at $X per tonne in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2018, import prices failed to regain their momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per tonne), while the price for Belgium ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
