Lamp Holder Exports

Exports from the United Arab Emirates

After two years of growth, overseas shipments of lamp holders, plugs and sockets decreased by -2.3% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 191% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, lamp holder exports declined modestly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 61% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Oman (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons) were the main destinations of lamp holder exports from the United Arab Emirates, together accounting for 0.8% of total exports. India, Tanzania, Iraq, Uganda, Somalia, Egypt, Kuwait, Yemen, Ghana and Bahrain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 0.8%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Bahrain (with a CAGR of +202.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, lamp holder imports into the United Arab Emirates dropped slightly to X tons, which is down by -2.4% on the year before. Overall, imports continue to indicate a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, lamp holder imports dropped modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 44%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
