Honey Market Size in the United Arab Emirates

Over the period under review, honey exports reached their peak figure at X tonnes in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2018, exports failed to regain their momentum.

In value terms, honey exports stood at $X in 2018. Over the period under review, honey exports, however, continue to indicate a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, honey exports attained their maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2018, exports failed to regain their momentum.

Iran (X tonnes), Qatar (X tonnes) and Oman (X tonnes) were the main destinations of honey exports from the United Arab Emirates, with a combined X% share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Iran (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for honey exported from the United Arab Emirates were Saudi Arabia ($X), Qatar ($X) and Oman ($X), together accounting for X% of total exports. In 2018, the average honey export price amounted to $X per tonne, declining by -X% against the previous year. In general, the honey export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the average export prices for honey attained their maximum at $X per tonne in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2018, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Algeria ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
