Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 102% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, desktop computer exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 46%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Oman (X units), India (X units) and Zambia (X units) were the main destinations of desktop computer exports from the United Arab Emirates, together comprising 52% of total exports. Zimbabwe, Uzbekistan, Angola, Rwanda, Maldives, Egypt, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Singapore and Kenya lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 40%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +143.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Oman ($X) remains the key foreign market for desktop computer exports from the United Arab Emirates, comprising 40% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Uzbekistan ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Egypt, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Oman amounted to +18.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+167.1% per year) and Egypt (-4.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average desktop computer export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 40% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to India ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Egypt (+13.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Desktop computer imports into the United Arab Emirates soared to X units in 2021, growing by 58% against 2020. In general, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, desktop computer imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest desktop computer supplier to the United Arab Emirates, accounting for a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, desktop computer imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Australia (X units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by the United States (X units), with a 5.8% share.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of desktop computer to the United Arab Emirates, comprising 50% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China totaled +18.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+5.4% per year) and Singapore (-9.3% per year).

In 2021, the average desktop computer import price amounted to $X per unit, almost unchanged from the previous year. In general, the import price showed a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 31% against the previous year.
