From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Zimbabwe (X tons), Mozambique (X tons) and Tanzania (X tons) were the main destinations of ammonium sulphate exports from the United Arab Emirates, together accounting for 74% of total exports. Malaysia, India and Oman lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by India (with a CAGR of +24.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Zimbabwe ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for ammonium sulphate exports from the United Arab Emirates, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mozambique ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Tanzania, with a 9.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Zimbabwe stood at +9.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mozambique (-7.2% per year) and Tanzania (+9.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average ammonium sulphate export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 46% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, ammonium sulphate export price increased by +85.2% against 2016 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Zimbabwe ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Mozambique ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into the United Arab Emirates
Ammonium sulphate imports into the United Arab Emirates dropped dramatically to X tons in 2021, with a decrease of -48.8% on 2020. Overall, imports saw a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 185%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, ammonium sulphate imports shrank markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 311%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
China (X tons), Madagascar (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of ammonium sulphate imports to the United Arab Emirates, with a combined 75% share of total imports. Germany, Spain and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 25%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +230.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Madagascar ($X) and China ($X) were the largest ammonium sulphate suppliers to the United Arab Emirates, together comprising 78% of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Germany, with a CAGR of +374.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average ammonium sulphate import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 31% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average import price increased by 221% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton.
