From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Lithuania (X kg) was the main destination for shelled hazelnut exports from Ukraine, accounting for a 42% share of total exports. Moreover, shelled hazelnut exports to Lithuania exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Norway (X kg), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Bulgaria (X kg), with an 18% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Lithuania was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Norway (0.0% per year) and Bulgaria (0.0% per year).
In value terms, Lithuania ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for shelled hazelnut exports from Ukraine, comprising 46% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Bulgaria ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Norway, with a 9.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Lithuania was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bulgaria (0.0% per year) and Norway (0.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average shelled hazelnut export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 259% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a strong increase. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Sierra Leone ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Norway ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+35.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Ukraine
In 2021, approx. X tons of shelled hazelnuts were imported into Ukraine; surging by 38% compared with the year before. Overall, imports, however, recorded a deep contraction. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Turkey (X tons), Georgia (X tons) and Azerbaijan (X tons) were the main suppliers of shelled hazelnut imports to Ukraine, together comprising 99% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Azerbaijan (with a CAGR of +8.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) constituted the largest supplier of shelled hazelnut to Ukraine, comprising 67% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Georgia ($X), with a 28% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Turkey amounted to -5.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Georgia (-10.1% per year) and Azerbaijan (+4.9% per year).

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the price for Georgia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
