Potato Market Size in Ukraine
After two years of decline, the Ukrainian potato market increased by X% to $X in 2019. In value terms, potato exports shrank sharply to $X in 2019. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2019, exports remained at a lower figure.

Moldova (X tonnes) was the main destination for potato exports from Ukraine, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, potato exports to Moldova exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belarus (X tonnes), threefold.
From 2007 to 2019, the average annual growth rate of volume to Moldova totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+X% per year) and Azerbaijan (+X% per year).

In 2019, the average potato export price amounted to $X per tonne, with an increase of X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, average export prices attained the maximum at $X per tonne in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2019, export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2019, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Azerbaijan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Moldova, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Ukraine
In 2019, approx. X tonnes of potatoes were imported into Ukraine; waning by -X% compared with 2018. In general, imports recorded a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2019, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, potato imports dropped to $X in 2019. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by X% against the previous year.
