For the fifth consecutive year, the Ukrainian ferro-manganese market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by X% to $X in 2022. Overall, consumption enjoyed prominent growth. Exports from Ukraine

For the third year in a row, Ukraine recorded decline in shipments abroad of ferro-manganese, which decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports saw a sharp setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, ferro-manganese exports declined notably to $X in 2022. In general, exports saw a significant decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Poland (X tons) was the main destination for ferro-manganese exports from Ukraine, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, ferro-manganese exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Spain (X tons), threefold. Russia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Poland was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Spain (X% per year) and Russia (X% per year).

In value terms, Poland ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for ferro-manganese exports from Ukraine, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Russia, with an X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Poland totaled X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Spain (X% per year) and Russia (X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average ferro-manganese export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of X%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Uzbekistan ($X per ton) and Turkey ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($X per ton) and Poland ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Ukraine

Ferro-manganese imports into Ukraine reduced remarkably to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of X% against the previous year. Overall, imports recorded a sharp descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ferro-manganese imports contracted significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a dramatic slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Slovakia (X tons), India (X tons) and Norway (X tons) were the main suppliers of ferro-manganese imports to Ukraine, together comprising X% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Norway (with a CAGR of X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, Slovakia ($X), Norway ($X) and India ($X) were the largest ferro-manganese suppliers to Ukraine, together accounting for X% of total imports.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for South Africa ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
