Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, chili and pepper exports declined remarkably to $X in 2020. Overall, exports showed a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, exports attained the peak of $X. from 2017 to 2020, the growth exports failed to regain the momentum.

Latvia (X tonnes), Poland (X tonnes) and Romania (X tonnes) were the main destinations of chili and pepper exports from Ukraine, together comprising X% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Romania, while exports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, Latvia ($X), Poland ($X) and Romania ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for chili and pepper exported from Ukraine worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Romania ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, overseas purchases of chilies and peppers (green) increased by X% to X tonnes, rising for the fifth year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports recorded a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, chili and pepper imports stood at $X in 2020. Overall, imports enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
