After six years of growth, overseas shipments of chicken meat decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, chicken meat exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
The Netherlands (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) were the main destinations of chicken meat exports from Ukraine, together accounting for X% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Ukraine
In 2022, imports of chicken meat into Ukraine dropped markedly to X tons, waning by X% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, chicken meat imports shrank notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Poland (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of chicken meat to Ukraine, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, chicken meat imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hungary (X tons), fourfold. The UK (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Poland totaled X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hungary (X% per year) and the UK (X% per year).

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Germany ($X per ton) and the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for the UK ($X per ton) and Hungary ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
