From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Moldova totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+X% per year) and Bahrain (+X% per year).

The average carrot and turnip export price stood at $X per tonne in 2018, jumping by X% against the previous year. Overall, the carrot and turnip export price continues to indicate a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices for carrots and turnips attained their maximum at $X per tonne in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2018, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2018, the imports of carrots and turnips into Ukraine amounted to X tonnes, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, carrot and turnip imports continue to indicate an outstanding increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, carrot and turnip imports stood at $X in 2018. In general, carrot and turnip imports continue to indicate a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. In that year, carrot and turnip imports reached their peak and are likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2018, Russia (X tonnes) constituted the largest carrot and turnip supplier to Ukraine, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, carrot and turnip imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belarus (X tonnes), fourfold. Poland (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

Overall, the carrot and turnip import price, however, continues to indicate a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when the average import price increased by X% y-o-y. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Georgia ($X per tonne), while the price for Russia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
